The Government of NCT of Delhi announced the Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy in August 2020, with a vision to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the city and to make Delhi the EV Capital of India. The policy aims to improve Delhi’s air quality by aiming to increase the share of electric vehicles to 25% of all new vehicle sales by 2024. In line with this vision, the Delhi Government has already taken several steps such as introducing subsidies on the purchase of EVs and the launch of a single-window facility to enable the installation of EV charging points in private and semi-public spaces in the city.
