The Government of NCT of Delhi announced the Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) Policy in August 2020, with a vision to promote the adoption of electric vehicles in the city and to make Delhi, the EV Capital of India. The policy has already undertaken various initiatives and progressive steps to move towards its vision.

In March 2021, Delhi Government directed all commercial establishments and institutions having a parking capacity of 100 or more vehicles to reserve 5% of their parking space for electric vehicles. In this direction, the Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDC-D) and WRI India, jointly launched the Workplace EV Charging Guidebook for Corporates in Delhi in November 2021. With an attempt to create an extensive network of EV charging, Delhi Government now invites shopping malls in Delhi to join hands in promoting electric vehicles by installing EV chargers in the parking space of their malls.
The Dialogue and Development Commission of Delhi (DDC-D), Government of NCT of Delhi and World Resources Institute, India (WRI India) are jointly launching the ‘EV Charging Guidebook for Shopping Malls in Delhi’ on 4th February (Friday) at 11:00 AM IST. The Guidebook is a ready reckoner for installing EV charging stations at shopping malls in Delhi. The launch will also see mall association members and industry stakeholders sharing their views on the role of shopping malls in scaling up EV adoption in Delhi.
