During the Conference of the Parties (COP21) developing nations emphasized the need for financial and technical support required to meet the climate goals set by the international community. Efficient mobilization of finance can provide the necessary infrastructure and impetus to the growth of the EV industry.
NITI Aayog and WRI India, with support from GIZ India are organizing a virtual workshop on ‘Financing for Decarbonisation of Transport’ on 22nd February 2022 (Tuesday) from 12 noon onwards.
Broad objectives of the consultation workshop:
- Enable organizations financing the development of the decarbonized ecosystem to work cohesively and efficiently through proper planning
- Bring together a wide spectrum of stakeholders (OEMs, Startups, service providers and financial institutes) for peer-to-peer learning and information exchange
- Understand the current financing challenges and initiatives
- Identifying and implementing best practices from other countries and industries
- Identifying actionable strategies to achieve India’s decarbonization plans and undertake the required policy advocacy to achieve the targets
The workshop comprises five sessions and each session will be dedicated to a detailed discussion on a specific topic.
