EMBARQ promotes the idea of a compact city, which begins at its smallest building block, which is the neighbourhood. A Neighbourhood Improvement Plan (NIP) therefore becomes a key mechanism to demonstrate compact city planning principles.
This chart shows the NIP proposals for HSR Layout, developed by the Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA), a residential area for senior civil employees of the Government of India. These proposals include Pedestrian Safety, Urban Green Networks, & Non-Motorized Transport (NMT) networks to provide easy access within the neighbourhood and to public transport corridors, and facilitate safe access and connectivity to parks, play-grounds and lake areas within the neighbourhood.
