Are you concerned about the scarcity of water and untreated sewage in Indian cities? Do you have a solution that uses natural processes and approaches towards countering these challenges? If so, participate in TheCityFix Labs: Accelerating Nature Based Solutions.
TheCityFix Labs India seeks to establish a platform that brings together entrepreneurs with investors, technical experts and the public sector to implement nature-based solutions (NbS) on ground. The initiative aims to identify nature-based solutions that addresses the pressing challenges of water scarcity and untreated sewage. Winning enterprises will get the chance to pilot their initiative and receive tailored mentorship.
Opportunities for the winners
The main intent of the lab seeks is to create a coalition of government and private sector action that can scale much-needed urban NbS quickly. The winners of the Accelerator will receive the following:
- Opportunity to design and implement pilot project with funding support upto INR 18 Lakhs.
- The opportunity to associate with global network of mentors including government officials at the national, state and city level, potential investors, markets and WRI India’s domain experts.
- Receive Tailored mentorship in the areas of business, technical and legal domains.

Pilot Site Context and Solution Required
Site area:
approx. 350 sq. m.
Location:
Sheshammagudem, Nalgonda
Innovative urban Nature-based Solutions required:
Sewage treatment - A decentralised system of treating sewage using natural and environmentally friendly processes is required within the pilot site as shown above. The treated water needs to confirm to applicable standards and guidelines.
Ground-water recharge – The treated water from the nature-based sewage treatment plant is to be used for ground water recharge. The ground water recharge technique needs to adhere to all applicable scientific standard and requirements.
