As Marketing and Communications Associate for WRI India, Tanuka is responsible for maintaining content for web and digital assets, telling the story of WRI India across a variety of digital mediums including WRI India’s web properties and social media assets like Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. She also supports WRI India’s social media efforts by curating campaigns for WRI’s work in India that tie in with the team’s overall communications efforts.
Prior to joining WRI, Tanuka worked with IT for Change, a Bangalore-based non-profit that seeks to promote innovative communication technologies in the Global South; Student Achievement Partners, an independent non-profit supporting teachers in the United States to understand and implement the Common Core State Standards; Pearson Education India, a well-known education publishing service. She has also completed an internship in Human Resources and Communication with UN Women, New York. Her skillset includes content management, editorial coordination, fundraising, organizational brand management through website and social media strategies, and media outreach.
She holds an MA in Communication from the University at Buffalo, USA and an MA in English from Jadavpur University, India.
When not working, Tanuka enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and exploring new places in search of good food.
