Manager – Marketing and Communications


Divya is Manager – Marketing and Communications at WRI India. She is responsible for managing and facilitating knowledge sharing, internal communications and external relations for the organization. She is also the India Editor of TheCityFix.com, WRI Sustainable Cities' online resource that connects a global network of writers, urban planners, designers, engineers and citizens.

Divya has 10 years experience in communications, with a focus on the non-profit sector. Divya initially worked at WRI India from late 2011 to mid 2013, and joined back in mid 2014. Previously, Divya has worked for Gateway House: Indian Council on Global Relations, an independent, not-for-profit, membership-based foreign policy think tank based in Mumbai; Oasis, an international charity headquartered in the UK; and Text100, an integrated communications consultancy, based in their Bangalore office. Divya’s professional experience ranges from internal communications, public relations, media outreach, branding, donor relations, and content development. She has successfully led and worked on teams across geographies. Divya also serves on the governing board of Kites Global, a charity that works against child abuse in India through counseling, advocacy, and preventative services.

Divya has a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, and a Master’s degree in English from the University of Mumbai. Divya is a classical pianist; she was initially trained to be a teacher and taught music at a private school for two years.
