Bhopal | June 2013: EMBARQ India’s Strategy Head – Urban Transport, Amit Bhatt was invited by the Government of Madhya Pradesh to participate as a key resource person in the deliberations around various issues involving the problems of urbanization and urban development in the city of Bhopal on 1st and 2nd June, 2013. The workshop was held at the Bhoj Open University, Bhopal, and saw participation from various stakeholders like government agencies, consulting firms, academia, and NGOs.

Indore | April 2013 iBus, implemented by the Atal Indore City Transport Service Ltd (AICTSL), is a 11.4 kilometer (7 mile) corridor consisting of 21 median stations and custom-designed buses, and is expected to serve 70,000 passengers daily. AICTSL is India’s first long term public private partnership (PPP).

The meeting was a largely informal event aimed at providing a shared space for entrepreneurs in Mumbai, and showcasing the market potential for current innovations in the sector. In attendance were entrepreneurs involved in a vast array of services and solutions in urban transportation.

9 May 2013 | Chennai: EMBARQ India recently prepared and submitted a comprehensive Intermediate Public Transport (IPT) policy to the Transport Commissioner, Government of Tamil Nadu, to enable the government to better regulate the IPT sector in Chennai (and other cities in the State), as well as promote reforms in this increasingly important mode of urban transport.

This is the inaugural meeting of CONNECTKaro, the regional event part of a global series of events focused on sustainable transport that the EMBARQ network organizes.
