TALK SERIES - WRI India's Decade in Bengaluru | Unlock Bengaluru
WRI India Sustainable Cities assists urban centres like Bengaluru to make informed decisions on land-use and infrastructure, including transport and energy, that typically have a 40-100 year 'lock-in' effect. Specifically, we focus on addressing problems resulting from congestion, sprawl, and energy inefficiency.
As Bengaluru makes these decisions, the city has an opportunity to move onto a path of improved liveability and sustainability. WRI India has worked on these issues with several key stakeholders from government departments, academic institutions, civil society, and independent experts in Bengaluru for nearly a decade, towards improving the quality of life for its citizens and future investment for the city.
With a continued focus on sustainability, WRI India presents 'Unlock Bengaluru', a talk series aimed at taking the dialogue on sustainable development to the next level.
The first talk in this series will be with Charlotte Matthews, Vice President of Sustainability for Related Companies. Ms. Mathews will present on Hudson Yards, the largest private real estate development in the history of the United States and the largest development in New York City since the Rockefeller Center, focusing her talk on sustainability. This will be followed by a discussion on the relevance for the city of Bengaluru.
