STAMP- Program Launch

WRI India in collaboration with the Toyota Mobility Foundation, formally launched the Station Access and Mobility Program (STAMP) on December 22nd 2016 in Bengaluru.

The STAMP program will provide a challenge platform to identify and incubate first- and last-mile connectivity solutions to and from the metro stations. The program focuses on innovative solutions that leverage technology to provide high quality, environmentally sensitive and people-centric services, which may be related to feeder systems, parking facilities, universal access, walking and cycling modes, and safety and security measures.

The launch fittingly brought together key stakeholders working in urban mobility from all spheres, including government, experts, civil society and corporate. Panelists included Mr. Pradeep Singh Kharola, MD - BMRCL, Dr. Ekroop Caur, MD - BMTC, Dr. Ashwin Mahesh, CEO Mapunity, Ms. Revathy Ashok, CEO - BPAC, Mr. Naveen Soni, VP - Toyota Kirloskar Motors (TKM), Mr. Prasanna Ganesh, Program Director - TMF, Mr. Amit Bhatt, Director - WRI India. The session was moderated by Mr. V. Ravichandar, civic evangelist.

The discussion focused on seamless, multi-modal integration for last-mile connectivity, as well as the need for a more collaborative and participatory approach to include citizens and entrepreneurs in transportation and the importance of government regulations in promoting private sector participation.
