    EMBARQ India organized a two day workshop with Copenhagen based urban research and design consultancy GEHL Architects on September 28 and 29, 2013. Participating were members from the Urban Design and Accessibility teams from Bangalore, Mumbai and New Delhi; and the representatives from GEHL Architects were Henriette Vamberg and Ulrik Nielsen.

    The residents of Bhopal now have a new, convenient and safer way to traverse their city. On 27th September 2013, in a glittering ceremony attended by over 1,000 people, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, officially launched MyBus.

  • Bangalore | September 17, 2013 Intra-city travel for residents of Bangalore will soon get easier and flexible. On Monday, September 16th 2013, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramiah and Karnataka Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy launched the BIGTrunk services, with a grand ceremony at the Vidhana Soudha. The 65 buses of the BIGTrunk Services aim to serve 53,000 passengers daily along the city’s 12 major arterial roads.

  • Mumbai | August 30, 2013 On August 28, 2013, the Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal announced that Amritsar and Ludhiana will kick off BRT systems in the next few years. A state delegation on a visit on Turkey was highly impressed by the BRT system in Istanbul. The state government is about to begin a feasibility and detail project report for the BRT systems in both Ludhiana and Amritsar.

    Sandeep Soni, the CEO of the Atal Indore City Transport Services Limited, is amongst the first to arrive and last to leave the office. He currently heads the AICSTL, the body responsible for the initiation and implementation of the iBus, Indore’s first full BRT system.

  • Mumbai | 21st June 2013: EMBARQ India conducted a daylong workshop at the annual student 'Design and Degree Show' at IDC (Industrial Design Center), IIT Bombay on 21st June 2013. Under the umbrella of the main event theme "Design as a Catalyst for Change", the EMBARQ workshop, ‘Vehicle of Change’ focused on ideating a systems approach for improving walking experiences within the city.
